Found in the middle of fresh air, wind, sand and water with unique and diverse nature just outside is Montra Hotel Hanstholm. At Montra Hotel Hanstholm, you have the wonderful North Sea as the closest neighbour only 10 km from “Cold Hawaii”, and if you prefer calmer waters the Limfjord as well as the lakes Vandet Sø and Nors Sø is close by. The lakes are surrounded by beautiful forests and dune plantations, which are great places for a hike on the many trails in the area.

The hotel is also right on the edge of the National Park Thy, the first national park in Denmark, which covers more than 4000 acres of dune and moor-filled nature with a rich fauna.

Hanstholm is home to many experiences with a touch of history from World War ll, seeing as the area is covered with bunkers that were part of Northern Europe’s biggest fortification. Today there’s a museum about The Atlantic Wall in the bunkers in town.
